A rare banner season for the fumbling Philadelphia franchise, the 1950 Phillies came out of nowhere with the strong second half surge and fended off the Brooklyn Dodgers to win the National League by two games reaching the first World Series for the first since 1915 and only its second series appearance in the 67-year history of the franchise to date. This Official National League Ford C. Frick baseball carries 23 signatures from the 1950 club including manager Eddie Sawyer and Putsy Caballero on the sweet spot. The remaining signatures include Hall of Famers Richie Ashburn and Robin Roberts, Bill Nicholson, Andy Seminick, Eddie Waitkus, Curt Simmons, Mike Goliat, Jimmy Bloodworth, Dick Whitman, Jim Konstanty, Del Ennis, Benny Bengough, Milo Candini, Dick Sisler, Cy Perkins, Russ Meyer, Blix Donelly, Stan Hollmig, Ken Heintzelman, Willie Jones, and one other. The baseball displays toning and the stampings are slightly faded, but still readable and there is a very light coating of shellack. All of the signatures are in dark blue ink and come with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (U06393).
