Offered here is a ball signed by pitchers that Mickey Mantle has personally victimized. This ball bears the signatures of seven different pitchers who surrendered various milestone home runs or hits against The Commerce Comet, as well as the autograph of the player who replaced him in his last game. Located on the sweet spot of the ball is Stu Miller’s autograph in blue pen. Miller also included the inscription “Gave up Mantle’s 500th HR 5-14-67”. To the right of that signature is that of Jim Lonberg, along with the note “Mantle’s last HR #536 9-20-1968”. To the left of Miller’s inscription Randy Gumpert signed his name and inscribed “Mantles 1st ML HR 5-1-‘51”.

In addition to these men, Barney Schultz signed the ball, inscribing “I pitched Mantle’s 16th W.S. HR 10-10-64”. Below him, Paul Foytack autographed the ball and inscribed “I gave Mantle’s longest measured home run 9-10-60”. Bill Fischer autographed the ball and wrote “I gave up Mantle 734 [ft] est HR 5-22-63”. The last pitcher to sign this ball is Luis Tiant, who allowed Mantle’s last ever Major League hit, which proved to be the only hit in Tiant’s one-hit shutout of the Yankees. Tiant inscribed “MANTLE’S LAST HIT 9-25-68” and signed his name above the inscription. Finally, the ball is also signed by Andy Kosco, the player who replaced Mantle at first base during the final game of Mantle’s career. Kosco inscribed the ball “I replaced M. Mantle in his last game on 9/28/1968”. All signatures and inscriptions on this ball are written in blue pen and in excellent condition. This lot has been pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
