Up until this year’s 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs, the last Cubs team to even reach the World series was the 1945 squad that finished with a National League best 98-56 record and lost a heart-breaking seven game series to the Detroit Tigers. This Official National League Ford C. Frick baseball has been signed by 22 members of the 1945 National League Champions in black ink. The signatures are clear and the baseball is in excellent condition, given its age, with only minor toning. Signatures include Claude Passeau, Lennie Merullo and Bill Schuster on the sweet spot. One panel has the signatures of Stan Hack, manager Charlie Grimm, Dewey Williams, Clyde McCullough and Paul Erickson. The Spalding stamped panel has the signatures of Ray Primm, Ed Sauer, and Pep Johnson. The third panel has the signatures of Hank Wyse, Milt Stock, Roy Hughes, Heinz Becker and Ray Starr. The last panel has the signatures of Andy Pafko, Wally Signer, Bill Nicholson, Hank Borowy and Hy Vandenberg. This multi-signed baseball from the 1945 National League Champion Chicago Cubs comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AB11870).
