After helping lift the “Curse of the Bambino” in leading the Boston Red Sox to the 2004 World Series title, Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez signed with the New York Mets for the 2005 season. Pedro turned in an all-star season for New York as he finished with a 15-8 record and 2.82 ERA.    

      Martinez wore this Majestic size 48 button-down road New York Mets jersey during the 2005 season. “NEW YORK” is sewn on across the chest in blue, orange and black tackle twill with Martinez’s number “45” sewn on the center left chest. Blue piping runs along the collar and down both sides of the buttons and along the outer sleeves. The back of the jersey has “MARTINEZ” and “45” sewn on in blue, orange and black tackle twill with the MLB logo patch sewn on the upper neck in Mets colors. The left sleeve has the Mets cityscape logo patch sewn on above the blue embroidered Majestic logo. The Majestic tag, along with the (+2” BODY), “46” and “SET E 2005” flags are sewn on the inside left front tail. This jersey displays light wear and the sizing and tailoring are consistent with known Pedro Martinez game used Mets’ jerseys. This jersey comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
