Presented is a portrait of the legendary Roberto Clemente by Arthur K. Miller. Clemente was the first Latin American/Caribbean player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, having been the first Latin American player to win a World Series as a starter, win a National League MVP and a World Series MVP.
This portrait displays Clemente with a bat in his right hand, sporting his Pittsburgh Pirates uniform, with the sun shining bright on his face; his baseball cap shielding his eyes. His expression captures the essence of many of the moments Clemente faced while he was up to bat, and artist Miller was able to brilliantly recreate this expression. Miller’s signature is found on the top right corner in light green, fading into the grassy green background. Inscribed on the back of the painting is “Roberto Clemente, 2008” and Miller’s full signature. This painting is framed to the dimensions of 17 x 12 ½ inches.
