The Curse of the Bambino. From 1918 to 2003 the Boston Red Sox did not win a single World Series. Legend has it that this drought stemmed from the Red Sox decision to sell their star batter and pitcher Babe Ruth to the hated New York Yankees. Whether this curse was the reason for their lack of success or not, the 2004 Boston Red Sox finally snapped the streak after one of the greatest comeback in baseball history. Down 3-0 to the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS, the Red Sox engineered an improbable comeback, winning the final four games of the series to advance to their first Fall Classic since 1986. The World Series that year was mere formality, with the Red Sox sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in four games, finally bringing the Commissioners Trophy back to Yawkey Way.

Offered here is a bottle of Korbel California Champagne that the Red Sox used during their celebration after Game 7 of the ALCS. Used in one of the most joyous sporting celebrations of all-time, this green bottle is a reminder of the intense emotions sports can bring to all of us.
