The Big Unit began his last season with the Seattle Mariners in 1998. After a finishing second in the Cy Young voting in 1997, Johnson would start the season with a 9-10 record before being dealt to the contending Houston Astros in July.
This alternate navy blue mesh button-down Majestic Mariners jersey was worn during 1998 season. The front of the jersey has "MARINERS" in silver, navy blue and teal tackle twill with the size 50 Majestic label sewn on in the front left tail. The back has "JOHNSON" across the shoulders in silver and teal tackle twill on a matching navy blue name plate. Johnson's "51" is below in the same club colors. The Mariners logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve and the Majestic logo is embroidered in red, white and blue on the right sleeve. The jersey displays light game use with a few scattered loose threads and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
