The Williamsport Grays were an Eastern League Class A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies from 1958 – 1962. The Williamsport name had several incarnations dating back to 1923 and were known as the Billies (1923), the Grays (1924-37, 1950, 1954-62), the Tigers (1947-49, 1951-52) and the Athletics (1953) and had associations with the Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Athletics, Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians.

Offered is this Williamsport Grays road flannel jersey worn during the 1960 season in which the Phillies affiliate team was the Eastern League champions. Manufactured by Spalding, this button-down jersey has “WILLIAMSPORT” sewn on in black felt across the front. The number “22” has been sewn on in black felt on the back of the jersey with the Spalding and size 40 tags have been sewn on the bottom front left tail. The inside left tail has the wash tag and a “SET 1 1960” flag. The jersey shows light use with some staining around the collar and shoulders. Handwritten in black marker on the inside bottom button area is “Johnson” and “B.B.”. This jersey was made specifically for the team and was not recycled by the Phillies for their use. This jersey comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
