Offered here is a set of 16 Red Man Tobacco baseball caps. Red Man Tobacco has a long history of advertising through baseball, dating to an endorsement from turn-of-the-century star Nap Lajoie. These caps could be obtained by mailing in 50 receipts from promotional baseball cards sold with packs of Red Man chewing tobacco. During the 1950s, when these hats were produced, star players such as Johnny Mize and Ralph Kiner featured on Red Man endorsements. Included in this lot are hats from all 16 Major League teams in the 1950s, including the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Senators, Milwaukee Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, New York Giants, Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians Philadelphia Athletics. The hats are all in excellent condition.
