Offered in this lot are two game used jersey from the New York Mets during the early 1970s. Former pitcher Harry Parker wore this Wilson size 44 button-down New York Mets road jersey during the 1973 season. A restored “NEW YORK” has been sewn on across the chest in blue and orange tackle twill. This was a common practice for the Mets in the 1970s as jersey were often recycled to the minor leagues. A “Mets” outline can be seen on the front. Blue piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons. Parker’s restored “31” is also sewn on the front and back in blue and orange tackle twill. The white inner lining on the color has a gray team patch that reads “31 44 73”. The Mets cityscape logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve and the Wilson tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail. This jersey displays moderate use.

Former first baseman/outfielder John Milner wore this size 42 button-down off-white Rawlings New York Mets road jersey during the 1974 season. “Mets” is sewn on across the chest in blue and orange tackle twill with Milner’s number “28” sewn on in blue and orange on the front and back of the jersey. The blue piping that runs around the collar and down the buttons displays damage on the back of the neck and stomach areas. There are two buttons on the front that are also missing and the Mets skyline patch has been removed from the left sleeve as evidence by the markings. The inside collar has the team patch that reads “41 74 28” and the letter “J” has been handwritten in faded black marker to the left of the patch. The red Rawlings tag has been sewn on the bottom front right tail. It’s important to note that some 1970s New York Mets jerseys had even number sizes on the Rawlings tag, but odd numbers on the sizes on the strip tag, which is the case here. The jersey shows heavy use. Both jerseys come with individual LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
