Holiday Auction Closing December 3
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/4/2016
Offered here is a Louisville Slugger bat signed by the members of the 1997 Cleveland Indians. 1997 was a heartbreaking year for the Indians, as they had a chance to end their 49-year World Series drought, but fell to the Florida Marlins on a seventh game walk-off single by Edgar Renteria in the bottom of the 11th inning of the Fall Classic. This bat is signed by 33 members of that team, including Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, David Justice, Omar Vizquel, Sandy Alomar, Julio Franco, Orel Hershiser, Jack McDowell, hitting coach Charlie Manuel and many others. However, Jeff Manto’s signature is engraved, not signed. The signatures, rendered in black Sharpie, are located on the barrel of the bat, which is engraved with “Cleveland Indians”. This item comes with a PSA/DNA LOA (AC04067).
