Former Major League player Rico Carty spent 15 years in the big leagues with six different organizations. Carty spent three-plus seasons with the Cleveland Indians from 1974-1977 where he batted .303 with 47 home runs and 243 RBI. This red Cleveland Indians pullover jersey was worn by Carty during the 1975-1977 seasons.

This Wilson size 44 knit jersey features “INDIANS” sewn on across the chest in white and faded blue tackle twill. The back of the jersey has “CARTY” sewn on in white tackle twill above his number “9”, which has been sewn on in white and blue tackle twill. The v-neck collar and sleeve ends have a ribbed navy blue and white material and the left sleeve has a white circular patch with the image of Chief Wahoo in a batting pose. The jersey shows excessive wear with numerous holes and rips. The number on the back of the jersey appears to have been changed, removed and replaced with the original number “9” by the team. The name on the back has not been altered. Carty signed his name in black marker below his number on the back of the jersey and inscribed “Game used 1977”. The Wilson tag is sewn on the inside back collar, but no year tag is present, which is consistent with 1975 jerseys issued by the Indians. The Indians started putting year tags on this style in 1976. This jersey comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AC04042) for Carty’s signature and inscription and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
