Graded 40 VG 3 by SGC. It is amazing that any 1914 Cracker Jacks survive today with the overall visual appeal of the offered example. The 1914 cards were not available directly from the factory and could only be obtained from within a box of Cracker Jack's sticky caramel coated popcorn. This example has relatively light staining, most of which is only evident on the reverse. Offered is an attractive specimen of card #30 from that elusive 1914 set, portraying Detroit outfielder and future Hall of Famer Ty Cobb in a classic and challenging pose. This well-centered examples exhibits routine handling wear, and slight staining can be seen on both sides (a by-product of being forced into proximity with a perishable and blemish-inducing substance).
