Great hand written letter from the hand of 1/4 of Notre Dame’s Four
Horsemen. Halfback “Sleepy Jim” Crowley’s finest season was 1924 when he
was the team’s highest scorer and was voted to the All-American team as
Notre Dame finished the season 10-0. Crowley, Harry Stuhldreher, Don
Miller and Elmer Layden made up the famous “Four Horseman of Notre Dame”
and this letter lists the famed line up along with their positions and
playing weight in this unique letter. The letter also lists what some of
the players did after graduating and mentions Coach Knute Rockne’s
tragic death in a plane crash but mistakingly adds that Wiley Post was
the pilot. The last part of the letter lists the 1930 backfield from
Rockne’s last squad. A very unique part of college football’s most
legendary group of players. Letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
