Presented here is an original ticket to Lou Gehrig’s official public memorial held on July 4th, 1941 at Yankee Stadium. Lou Gehrig was known as one of the greatest first baseman in history. Gehrig’s accomplishments include being an All-Star seven consecutive times, a Triple Crown winner, an AL MVP twice, and a six-time World Series champion. In his time, he set the record for most grand slams at 23, as well as most consecutive games played. Gehrig would be forced to retire early at 36, being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, most commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He would die just two years later. This ticket was an official passage to Gehrig’s memorial. A highly prized, ticket among collectors, this ticket is in excellent condition featuring both the stub and the full length ticket. Some natural signs of fading are visible; however, Gherig’s picture remains completely intact as well as the rest of the ticket. This ticket has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (16386487) with a grade of VG 3.
