Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Junior Lake wore this 1914 Chicago Federals throwback uniform (jersey and pants) for the April 23, 2014 game between the Cubs and the Arizona Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field. Also known as the Chicago Whales, the “FEDS” played in the short-lived Federal League in 1914-1915. Lake went 1-4 during the game in which the Diamondbacks won 7-5.
This cream colored size 48 Majestic partial button-down jersey features navy blue pinstripes and sewn on the upper left chest is a “C” with a whale’s tail and “FEDS”. The collar is blue and Lake’s number “21” is sewn on in navy blue tackle twill on the back of the jersey. The inside collar has a cream colored strip tag that reads “21 48 1914”. The jersey shows outstanding use with a large dirt stain on the front. This jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 962687). The matching game pants were also worn by Lake during the April 23rd game. These cream colored Majestic pants with navy blue pin stripes show outstanding use with numerous dirt stains. The strip tag on the inner waist band reads “21 38-43 24 OB 1914”. These pants come with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 962651).
