From 1985 to 1988 Darryl Strawberry owned New York. The Mets slugger was the first home-grown Mets star to come along in a generation and his youthful drive and power helped push the team to the World Championship in 1986. From there Straw kept on going - he made the All-Star team ever year and in 1988 led the National League with 39 home runs, just missing out on the MVP Award.

This Rawlings I13A model bat dates to those summers where it looked like Darryl Strawberry played like a first ballot Hall of Famer. This bat shows heavy use and there is a slight crack in the handle. Many ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen along with black ink transfers and cleat imprints. Blue bat rack paint streaks are visible and a moderate coat of pine tar is found mid-handle. Straw’s number “18” is hand written on both ends in black marker. The weight is written on the knob in black ink and the model number “I13A” is stamped into it. Straw has signed the bat’s barrel not once, but twice, in black marker. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B01245) who have graded this bat a GU 9 and a COA from PSA/DNA (AB73572) for the signatures.
