Presented here are two original photographs of Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald is notoriously known as being the assassin who killed President John F. Kennedy. On November 22, 1963 President Kennedy was shot by a sniper from the Texas School Book Depository, a building across the Dealey Plaza in which the president was touring through. Oswald, who had shot a police officer roughly 50 minutes after the Kennedy Assassination, was quickly captured, taken into custody, and charged with the murder of President Kennedy. Oswald would claim that he was used as a scapegoat and was innocent. Two days later while being transferred from a county jail to a union jail, Oswald was shot on live television by a Dallas nightclub owner named Jack Ruby and would eventually die from the bullet wound.

These two photographs of Lee Harvey Oswald were made from unique negatives purchased from Oswald’s brother Robert. The photographs are black and white and depict a different side of Oswald. The first picture displays him on an open field, with a rifle on his left hand, smiling at the camera. The second, shows him dressed in slacks, and a plaid shirt holding his daughter June. Both of these photographs measure 8 x 10 inches and are unframed. These pictures are in excellent condition and come with a COA from University Archives.
