Offered is this heavily game used batting helmet by Cincinnati Reds All-Star first baseman Joey Votto during Game 5 of the 2012 National League Division Series against the San Francisco Giants at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati on October 11, 2012. This all red helmet features the Cincinnati “C” affixed on the center of the helmet in white outlined in black. Votto’s number “19” is affixed in the form of individual decals next to the “2012 Postseason” logo, which is centered on the back of the helmet. The interior of the helmet has all original padding in place and features a Rawlings Authentic On Field Equipment patch denoting helmet size 7 ½. On the right side of the helmet, just above the ear hole, there is a large abrasion that runs to the air hole on the top. There are also numerous scuff marks, chips and a chip a piece of the brim that has broken off. Votto signed his name in bold black marker on the brim and inscribed “2012 Playoffs GU”. The helmet is fastened with MLB Authentication hologram (EK 329562), which authenticates this helmet’s used during Game 5 of the NLDS and PSA/DNA COA (T54829) for his signature and inscription.
