Offered here is a 1988 Tiffany Sports Bowl award presented to New York Mets outfielder Darryl Strawberry. A power hitting right fielder, Straw slugged 335 home runs and made eight All-Star teams over his career. The left-handed Strawberry ended his career with exactly 1,000 RBI.

      This silver-plated bowl was awarded to Strawberry for his work in fighting neuromuscular disease. The inscription on the bowl reads “Thank you for putting your healthy muscles to work in the battle against neuromuscular disease” and “Presented to a good guy/Darryl Strawberry.” The bowl has a diameter of 11” and is 5 ¼ inches tall and was given to Strawberry on February 3rd, 1988. Tiffany & Co. has a long history of presenting and designing sports awards. The first Super Bowl trophy, awarded in 1967, was a Tiffany & Co. design, and today they design the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
