Sepia toned wire photo showing a young Joe DiMaggio, Yankee skipper Joe McCarthy and an unidentified man and young boy handing a bat to the Yankee Clipper. The Associated Press photo is stamped “Oct. 4” on the back and was taken at the World Series in either 1936, 1939 or 1942 all
three of which were played at Yankee Stadium on that date. Photo has
some paper loss on the back which does not affect the image on the
front. Letter of provenance from the Joe DiMaggio Collection Hunt
Auction and is signed by Paula DiMaggio Hamra and Kathie DiMaggio Stein.
