Offered is this Mike Piazza Marucci World Win bat used by the Hall of Fame catcher during the 1997 All-Star Game in Cleveland. This Marucci model bat displays moderate use with a handle crack. The barrel shows several ball marks with stitch impressions plus red and black ink transfers from the All-Star Game ball. PSA/DNA has determined that the red and black ink transfers found on the bat’s barrel indicate contact with the special ball used in the 1997 All-Star Game. PSA/DNA’s research has also matched this bat to footage taken of Piazza during his 4th inning at bat in the mid-summer classic. Cleat marks can be seen along with blue and green bat rack paint streaks. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and Piazza’s number “31” has been written on the knob in black marker. The catcher has signed the barrel in black marker adding “G/U”. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B03063) for the game use and has graded this bat a GU 9.5 and a STICKER ONLY (4A10521) for the signature.
