Ryne Sandberg was the highest paid player in the Majors in 1992 and he earned every cent. His .304 batting average, 26 home runs, 100 runs, and 87 RBI were the best of any National League second baseman and earned him the Silver Slugger Award. The Rawlings 256B model bat shows outstanding use with a handle crack. Many ball marks and stitch impressions are visible on the barrel along with black ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. Cleat marks are present plus green and red bat rack paint streaks. The model number “256B”, order number “142” and year “92” are stamped into the knob. “Sandberg” and the bat’s weight “31 1/2” has been hand written in black marker on the knob. Sandberg’s number “23” has been hand written in black marker on both ends and the Cubs star has boldly signed his name on the barrel in black marker. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B10715) for the game use and has been graded a GU 9.5 and a LOA from PSA/DNA (AC04487) for the signature.
