In 2013, Lloyd McClendon was the hitting coach for the Detroit Tigers, responsible for harnessing the prodigious talents of sluggers like Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder. McClendon settled into this role after several stints as a manager with the Pirates and Mariners. McClendon is about to begin his second tour of duty with the Tigers, after he was a coach with them from 2006 to 2013.
This size 50 gray Majestic button-down road jersey was worn by McClendon during the 2013 playoffs, when the Tigers advanced to the ALCS. They defeated the A’s 3-2 in the opening round but lost to the eventual World Series champion Red Sox in the League Championship series. “DETROIT” is sewn onto the front of this jersey in white, navy, and orange tackle twill. McClendon’s number “8” is sewn on below that in white, orange, and navy tackle twill. A “2013 Postseason” logo is sewn onto the right sleeve. “McCLENDON” is sewn on the back in white, orange, and navy tackle twill, with a vinyl MLB logo sewn above it. McClendon’s number “8” is sewn on the back in white, orange, and navy tackle twill. McClendon signed the “8” in silver Sharpie, inscribing “Game Used 2013 Postseason” on the jersey. There is a Majestic tag and sizing information sewn on the front left bottom portion of the jersey. This item comes with a McClendon LOA.
