The Boston Red Sox didn’t have much success as a team between 1918 and 2004. What they did have were some of baseball’s greatest players, such as Ted Williams, Roger Clemens, and Carl Yastrzemski. “Yaz” was an all-around star in left field, who played all 23 years of his career for the Sox. The winner of the Triple Crown and MVP in 1967, Yaz was the greatest Red Sox since Ted Williams.
The item offered here is a 1979 Red Sox yearbook signed by Yaz, the cover star of the publication. The book features portraits and descriptions of all the ’79 Sox, as well as statistics for the players and the Red Sox.
