When Hall of Famer Joe Morgan joined the Cincinnati Reds in 1972, the second baseman became the final piston in the Big Red Machine that won back-to-back World Championships. Morgan drove in Ken Griffey, Sr. to win the 7th and deciding game of the 1975 World Series and was selected to play second base for eight consecutive All-Star Games. Morgan’s 1973-75 Hillerich & Bradsby S44 model bat shows excellent use and is un-cracked. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the barrel and a light coat of pine tar is located on the handle. The model number “S44 is stamped into the knob and Morgan’s number “8” is hand written in faded black marker. Morgan has signed the barrel in blue marker, completing this Big Red Machine bat. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B02837) for the game use, with a grade of GU 8.5 and a LOA from PSA/DNA (AC04508) for the signature.
