A member of the vaunted 500 Home Run Club, Eddie Mathews was one of the most feared sluggers of the 1950s and 1960s. He played most notably for the Milwaukee Braves, and along with Hank Aaron, led them to the 1957 World Series title. Mathews was elected to the Hall of Fame on his fifth ballot, in 1978.
The item offered here is a Rawlings Official National League William D. White baseball. Mathews signed the ball in black ballpoint pen, inscribing “HOF 78” under his signature. Mathews added a list of his career statistics (“Games 2391 Hits 2315 Runs 1569 HRs 512 RBI 1453 BA .271 SA .509”), in addition to his signature. This item comes with a JSA STICKER ONLY (J71504).
