One of the most beloved TV shows in American history, Gilligan’s Island chronicled the misadventures of a group of shipwrecked tourists on a tropical island. The show tells the story of their numerous escape attempts, which are usually doomed by the ship’s hapless first mate, the titular Gilligan. Gilligan’s Island only ran for three seasons, but left an indelible mark on American pop culture.
The item offered here is a full color 8 x 10 inch photograph of the central cast of Gilligan’s Island. Pictured, from left to right, are Russell Johnson, Dawn Wells, Bob Denver, Tina Louise, Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, and Alan Hale. The actors are pictured standing or sitting in a dinghy. This photograph is signed by Johnson (Professor Roy Hinkley), Wells (Mary Ann Summers), Denver (Gilligan), Louise (Ginger Grant), and the creator of the show, Sherwood Schwartz. They signed the photograph in black Sharpie. Certain signatures have added inscriptions, including Schwartz, who wrote “Best wishes from Gilligan’s Island!” This item comes with a JSA LOA (Y51871).
