New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira used this Marucci MT25 Custom Cut Model bat in a June 7, 2014 tilt against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals defeated the Yankees 8-4, sending the Yanks record to 31-30. Teixeira went 0-3 in this game, but scored a run on a Yangervis Solarte single in the 6th inning after drawing a walk. In the process of earning that free base, Teixeira broke the bat offered here. Facing Royals starter Danny Duffy, Teixeira fractured the handle of the bat while hitting a pitch foul to extend his AB.
This Marucci MT25 shows extensive use, including the cracked handle and ball imprints along the black barrel. The apricot-colored handle is coated with a light layer of pine tar and Mota stick. The Marucci logo and the text on the bat is white, contrasting excellently with the pitch black barrel. This item comes with Steiner Sports authentication and a MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ 178829).
