The start to Mike Trout’s Major League Baseball career was like a Hollywood movie - the 20 year-old won himself the Rookie of the Year Award and finished a close second in the MVP voting. A second year of coming in second for the MVP only fueled the kid’s fire and he easily won it in his third season with a .287 average and a then-career high 36 home runs and 111 RBI.
This Old Hickory MT27 bat was manufactured in 2013 but used by the Angels star during his 2014 MVP campaign. The bat has a repaired handle crack and shows excellent game use with several ball marks with white ball scuffs on the barrel. The handle has been spiral wrapped with white adhesive tape to enhance the grip and a heavy coat of pine tar has been applied. “MT 14” has been hand written in pencil on the knob end. The 2014 AL MVP has signed the barrel in silver adding “14 G/U MVP”. This bat comes with a full LOA from Anderson Authentics (1482) for the game use and signature, a MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ 109088) and a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B11235) who have graded this game used bat a GU 9.
