In 2000, the New York Mets and Yankees met in the World Series for the first time. Known as “The Subway Series,” this was the first time since the Yankees-Dodgers World Series of 1956 that two New York teams faced off in the Fall Classic. The Yankees were victorious in this edition of the Subway Series, defeating the Mets in five games.

The item offered here is a replica of the Yankee Stadium 161 Street subway station sign signed by Don Larsen. Larsen, a former Yankee, is the only player to throw a perfect game in the World Series. He twirled his perfecto in 1956 against the Brooklyn Dodgers, in the final Subway Series of the 20th century. He signed this sign in silver Sharpie, adding the inscription “PG-10-8-56.” This item comes with a JSA COA (W616010).
