     Wade Boggs used this Franklin “The Backhander” model glove during the 1988 season, his seventh season in the MLB. Boggs, a third baseman, played for the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays during his 18 year career. Purely a contact hitter, Boggs finished his career with a .328 batting average and 3,010 hits. A 12-time All-Star, Boggs was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a member of the Boston Red Sox.

     This tan Franklin WB400 model glove was Wade Boggs’ personal model, and features multiple instances of the Franklin logo, including on the wrist and thumb area. Boggs signed the outside thumb slot, adding the inscription “Game Used ’88 Boston.”The glove displays excellent use with the pocket and web face being well worn. The finger tips show appropriate scuffing. Both the inscription and signature were written in black Sharpie. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00294) for the game use and has been pre-certified by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
