Babe Ruth signed his name boldly across the sweet spot of this Official League baseball. Ruth signed his name in bold black ink and his signature lights up this slightly toned baseball. Also gracing this baseball is the signature of Hall of Famer Ted Williams, whose autograph appears in faded black ink on the side panel with the black “Harwood Trade Mark 1859 Natick Massachusetts” stamp. Dom DiMaggio’s signature has been written in black ink on the panel with the “9 IN. 5 OZ. HORSE HIDE COVER RUBBER CENTER” black stamp. The fourth signature on this baseball is that of Rabbit Maranville, whose signature is to the panel to the right of the “OFFICIAL LEAGUE” stamp. There is an additional signature on the ball, along with an inscription that partially reads “All Star Champs”, which was written in an unknown hand. This red-laced baseball displays toning from age and the Ruth signature is the strongest of the five total signatures. This baseball comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AB08647). Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
