Babe Ruth Auction To Benefit Babe Ruth Foundation Closing February 18
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2017
The 1934, the Major League All-Star Game was only the second occurrence of the Mid-Summer Classic, but we have still never seen a better one. Carl Hubbell, the ace twirler for the New York Giants, started the game for the National League squad. Facing a lineup of the best hitters in baseball, Hubbell struck out Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, and Joe Cronin consecutively. This feat has still never been equaled by one pitcher. This ticket, which cost a whopping $1.10 in 1934, features directions on how to reach the Polo Grounds by subway on the reverse side. This ticket has been encapsulated by SGC, who have graded it authentic. Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
