Babe Ruth Auction To Benefit Babe Ruth Foundation Closing February 18
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2017
The 1926 World Series was a nailbiter, as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the New York Yankees and Babe Ruth in seven games. This ticket was good for Game 4 at Sportsman’s Park, in St. Louis. Hall of Famer Waite Hoyt started this game for the Yanks and threw a complete game with eight strikeouts. The Yankees won 10-5 behind Babe Ruth’s three home runs. Before the game, Ruth had promised a sick child he would hit a home run for him. He more than delivered, and since then only three other players have hit as many home runs in a single World Series game. This ticket has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (22227980) and graded a GOOD 2. Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
