The 1936 World Series saw cross-town rivals New York Yankees and New York Giants battle each other for the fourth time in the World Series. The Yankees, winners of 102 regular season games, cruised to a 4-2 World Series victory behind Lou Gehrig and rookie sensation Joe DiMaggio.

This ticket was good for Game 3, a 2-1 Yankee win at Yankee Stadium. Bump Hadley started the game for the Yankees, pitching eight strong innings. Pat Malone closed out the ninth to earn the save. 1936 American League MVP Lou Gehrig hit a solo home run, his eighth World Series home run, then second all-time behind his former teammate Babe Ruth. This ticket has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (21848796), who have graded it a VG 3(MK). The MK refers to a pencil inscription of the score and date of the game written on the reverse side in very small letters. Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
