The fifth MLB All-Star Game took place on July 7, 1937, at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C. The American League handily defeated the National League 8-3. Five New York Yankees started this game, including Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Joe DiMaggio, and starting pitcher Lefty Gomez, along with the other Yankee starter Red Rolfe. Gehrig finished the game 2-4, with a home run and four RBI. Were an MVP award given out, The Iron Horse surely would have claimed it. This ticket has been authenticated and encapsulated by SGC. The bottom section has been torn off, likely at the Griffith Park gate. The back of the ticket features a beautiful and intricate purple mandala design. Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
