Jackie Robinson 70th anniversary auction to benefit JRF ending April 29

Presented here is a check signed by baseball’s greatest pioneer, Jackie Robinson. This check, on a Chemical Bank New York Trust Company check, was for the value of $37.43. It is made out to “Chock Full O’ Nuts”, the coffee company for whom Robinson was a vice-president. The check was made out on March 5, 1963, seven years after Robinson retired from professional baseball. Robinson signed the check with his birth name, Jack R. Robinson. He signed the check in blue pen and a large, red “PAID” stamp occupies much of the middle of the check. This item comes with a LOA from Robinson’s widow, Rachel Robinson.
