Ebbets Field was one of baseball’s true New York cathedrals, along with Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds. The Dodgers home from 1913 until they moved to Los Angeles in 1958, Ebbets Field was home to many incredible moments in baseball history.
This stretched canvas painting shows the iconic rotunda of Ebbets Field in the foreground of the painting. A crowd is milling about, preparing to watch their beloved Bums play. The background is a swirling mass of light colors, creating an alluring mysticism above the hallowed ballpark. The artist, Al Sorenson, signed his name in black marker on the bottom right corner of this 24 x 20 stretched canvas.
