Jackie Robinson 70th anniversary auction to benefit JRF ending April 29
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2017
Presented here is a collection of 11 Larry Doby themed items. Doby, the first African-American player in the American League, was an All-Star seven times in his 13-season career. Included in this lot is a signed 1947-1966 Exhibits card, signed in blue pen, and four 8x10 color photographs of Doby, all signed in blue marker. Next are four First Day cachet envelopes, four of which are for the 40th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball’s color barrier, and one from the first day of issue in 1982. Doby signed each one in blue pen. The final piece in this lot is a pin from the late 1940s congratulating Doby on his debut and performance with the Cleveland Indians. A four inch red and white ribbon hangs off of this flag, as well as a baseball and bat pendant. This entire lot has been pre-certified by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
