Jackie Robinson 70th anniversary auction to benefit JRF ending April 29
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2017
The 1962 National Baseball Hall of Fame added two members to its ranks as Bob Feller and Jackie Robinson were enshrined in their first ballot. Feller received 93.8% of the vote while Robinson got 77.5% of the ballots cast, becoming the first African-American to be enshrined in Cooperstown. There were also 34 players on the 1962 ballot that eventually became Hall of Famers, a testiment to the two inductees of Feller and Robinson that year. Both greats have signed their name on this un-marked baseball. Feller signed his name in blue ink on one of the side panels, while Robinson’s faded signature appears on another panel. The baseball displays evidence of use, with numerous dirt and scuff marks. Feller’s signature is clear, but Robinson’s signature is very light. This baseball comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (X04681).
