Jackie Robinson 70th anniversary auction to benefit JRF ending April 29
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2017
After beginning the season with a series of injuries and an uncharacteristic batting slump, Derek Jeter wound up having one of the finest seasons of his career. Rebounding to hit a nice .297, he capped off the year by becoming the very first Yankee to reach the 3,000 hit mark. Jeter’s 2011 P72 bat is un-cracked and shows good game use. The barrel shows several prominent white leather ball scuffs and there is some light checking from repeated ball contact. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and the date of manufacture “1/27/2011” and specs “34.0/32.0” are stamped into the knob end. To top off this textbook Jeter gamer, the Captain has signed the barrel in matching silver marker. The bat comes with about as solid a provenance as possible: a signed Letter of Authenticity from Derek Jeter. The bat comes with a full GU 8 LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12664) and Steiner COA for the game and Steiner COA for the autograph.
