This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2017
Presented here are two commemorative bases from the second year of baseball’s Civil Rights Games in 2008 played at AutoZone Park in Memphis, Tennessee between the Chicago White Sox and New York Mets. The game was started to honor the contributions of African-American ballplayers to Major League Baseball, and to generate interest for future African-American baseball players. Each base has the Civil Rights Game logo on the front, three hands gripping the handle of a baseball bat, next to bold black text reading “CIVIL RIGHTS GAME”. The bases each have the Chicago White Sox logo on one side panel and the New York Mets logo on another.
