Mike Piazza cemented his legacy with his induction to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016. The greatest offensive catcher to ever play the game used this Rawlings bat for batting practice during his stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1997, his final full season with the club. Piazza's 1997 season saw the slugger finish second in the National League MVP voting as he torched the league with 40 home runs, 124 RBI and a robust .362 batting average.
This 34.5 inch, 32.8 ounce bat exhibits excellent use with many ink transfers and ball marks. There also is evidence of checking from repeated ball contact that is visible on the back barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar on the handle and there are blue bat rack streaks. Stamped on the knob are the model number (609B), order number (208) and year (97). Piazza's #31 is written on the knob in blue and he has autographed the barrel in black Sharpie. The signature has been authenticated by a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (4A10541) and there is a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B03040) authenticating the bats game use.
