Albert Pujols started 2016 at the 14th spot in career home runs. By October he had leaped to number 9 on the list, closing in on the cherished 600-career home run mark. Pujols finished the season with 31 home runs and 119 RBI and 591 career home runs. Pujols has since surpassed the 600 home run mark, joining only Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Alex Rodriguez, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr., Jim Thome and Sammy Sosa.
This Marucci AP5P-LDM model bat shows moderate use and was used by Pujols during the May 7th, 2016 against the Tampa Bay Rays in which Tampa won 4-2. The handle has been cracked when Pujols grounded out against Rays’ pitcher Erasmo Ramirez in the bottom of the eighth inning. There are several ball marks and cleat marks on the barrel and there is also a light coating of pine tar on the upper handle. Pujols has signed the barrel in silver pen adding “Game Used”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12529) for the game use and has been graded a GU 9 and MLB Authenticated hologram (JB763493) dating this bat to the May 7th game and a STICKER ONLY from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B54965) for the signature.
