With New York up three games to two over the Dodgers, the World Series swung back to Yankee Stadium. 56,000 fans in the stands watched Mike Torres hold the Dodgers to just nine hits as the Yankees bats came alive to crush Los Angeles and take the Championship. Thurman Munson, who deftly handled his pitchers the whole series, contributed a single, but it was Reggie Jackson who would always be remembered for muscling three home runs in the 8-4 win. The victory brought respectability back to a proud franchise who had had not won a World Series since 1962.

These are the pants Munson wore during Game 6 of the 1977 World Series. Fortunately, Yankees pinstripes are almost as unique as fingerprints with the stripes lining up uniquely on each set produced. This makes photo matching a bit easier, and Resolution Photomatching has done just that when matching this set of pants to the ones worn by Munson in that triumphant Game 6. The Yankees home pinstripes show moderate game use with some wear on the knees and back of the thigh. The left rear thigh has a clubhouse repair of a worn spot. There are several small pine tar spots and turf stains throughout. The waistband has a Wilson size 35 label along with a white strip tag with “Munson 15 77 22 1 chain stitched in navy. A tremendous piece from the World Series game that brought the World Championship back to the Bronx. The pants come with an LOA from Resolution Photomatching, who have photo matched these pants to Game 6 of the 1977 World Series.
