Probably the best catcher in the National League for over 15 seasons, Mike Piazza put up career stats that make him arguably the greatest hitting catcher to ever play the game. 2002, from which year this bat dates to, was a typical season for the Newe York Mets' catcher, batting .280 with 33 home runs while making the NL All-Star team and taking home the Silver Slugger Award.
Piazza's Mizuno Pro Ltd model bat has a crack in the handle and shows moderate use. There are few ball marks and stitch impressions that can be seen on the back barrel along with cleat imprints and blue ink transfers. There are blue bat rack streaks and a light coating of pine tar on the handle. Piazza’s initials “MP” are stamped into the knob and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker adding “G/U”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B03032) for the game use and has been graded a GU 8 and a COA from PSA/DNA (4A10533) for his signature.
