     In their last season affiliated with the New York Yankees, the Norwich Navigators of the AA Eastern League won the league championship, three games to two, over the Harrisburg Senators. This capped a record of 6-2 for the Navigators in the 2002 playoffs. The team’s big offensive weapons were Mike Cervenak, who batted .276 with 21 home runs and 91 RBIs, and Andy Phillips (.305 average, 19 home runs). On the mound, Jorge De Paula went 14-6 with a 3.45 ERA, and Danny Borrell posted a 9-4 mark with an ERA of 2.31. Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte each had a one-game stint with Norwich that season.

     Presented here is a 10K gold 2002 Norwich Navigators Eastern League Champions ring presented to Stump Merrill, who served as manager for the team. The face features the Yankees “NY” logo made up of diamonds, set on a blue stone. Around the bezel setting reads “EASTERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS”. An image of the Navigators logo adorns the left shank of the ring, with the year 2002 above and the word “TRADITION” below. The Yankees logo centers the opposite shank, with the name “MERRILL” above it and the word “PRIDE” at the bottom. Merrill’s name is engraved inside the band, which weighs approximately 31.7 grams. Size of the ring is an approximate 10. This item includes a LOA from Stump Merrill.
