     The first bat in this lot was issued to closing pitcher Lee Smith for use in the 1983 All-Star Game. Although Smith did not bat, he pitched the bottom of the eighth inning for the Senior Circuit team. This Louisville Slugger bat has “1983 – All-Star Game / Lee Smith / National League” etched on the barrel, and a commemorative All-Star Game 50th Anniversary logo emblazoned on the barrel as well. Smith signed the barrel in black marker, adding the inscription “Game Used” to his signature. This item comes with a LOA from Lee Smith.

     The second bat was used by Smith in the 1987 All-Star Game, and the Cubs closer again appeared for the National League team. Smith earned the win in this game, pitching three innings of the National League’s 2-0 victory. Smith came to bat once, in the 13th inning, striking out against Jay Howell. This Rawlings Adirondack Big Stick bat has “Lee Smith / 1987 All-Star Game” etched on the barrel. Smith signed the barrel in black marker, inscribing 1987 All-Star below his signature. This item comes with a LOA from Lee Smith.
