Presented here is a baseball signed by Roger Maris, the mysterious and enigmatic holder of the single season home run record for over 30 years. Maris set the MLB record for home runs during the 1961 season with 61, breaking Babe Ruth’s single-season record of 60 home runs in 1927. Maris played 12 seasons in the Majors as a right fielder, including four with the New York Yankees, and was an American League All-Star from 1959 through 1962, and AL MVP in 1960 and 1961, and an AL Gold Glove winner in 1960. Maris played in seven World Series, five with the Yankees and two with the St. Louis Cardinals. Maris signed this Official American League Lee MacPhail baseball in black pen to the left of the sweet spot. This baseball has aged, and is a luscious cream color. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AC04350).
